Notes
from the GM
In
the narrative below, real dates are in
blue &
game-world dates are in red.
This allows you to scan through the text for a particular
year, either for the players
or for the characters.
Only the first entry for each Lian year is highlighted.
An "R"
next to a real date means the adventure was played "retroactive"
to a previous time period of the characters.

Background
Growing
up in the Terapin slums, little Christopher Knight saw a lot
of things no little boy should see and he never had much reason
to dream big, but he did. One day, when he made the aquaintance
of a strange lad by the name of Quentin Macleod "of the
Clan Macleod" and a Helfindian warrior named Standing Bear,
his life kicked into high gear.
When
word began to circulate that ships were being lost at sea just
north of Terapin, Christopher Knight, Quentin MacLeod &
Standing Bear decided they would investigate, starting with
the lighthouse at Seers Point. What they discovered there was
a half-orc slime mage who had killed the light keeper &
his family. He had taken over the lighthouse & was allowing
ships to run aground so that his minions could salvage their
treasures. The boys from Terapin killed the half-orc and restored
the lighthouse to the control of the people of Gusseaux.
The
3 worked together for a couple of years, but not just at adventuring.
Together, they built a successful thieves' guild known as the
Scorpion Guild(?) Word on the street says they were responsible
for stealing the "X-Files" from the city vaults.
These files contained the names & other information regarding
all the "X-factor" mutants known to the Count DeGusseaux.
When
the guild's operations were threatened by a team of ninja-like
mutant turtles who lived in the sewers of Terapin, they took
the strange creatures on in a straight-out fight. One
of the hard-shelled mutants left quite an impression on the
wall of the warehouse where the battle took place - or should
I say, THROUGH the wall.
Eventually,
they would bring a third person - a Fire Mage named Cinder -
into their enterprises in the Terapin underground. This
lead to adventures further & further from Terapin, and they
eventually journeyed as far south as the Kelmit Swamps, where
they explored the Forgotten City. A woman they rescued
from imprisonment there would also join their guild as "Scarlett."
Then,
they began to search for a place to esablish a home base outside
the city of Terapin. Once they had done this, they began
organizing a new kind of "problem solving" team, and
the Omega Shadow Force was born. Later, Cinder's sister,
Aarika, would join the team as well.
With
a larger team now in place, the Omega Shadow Force took on the
Temple of Fourgét and retrieved the "Hand of Nuada."
They were hired by a mysterious man who would not reveal who
he represented or who had finaced the expedition.
Soon,
the Omega Shadow Force contacted the RoachKings through Dragon
Slayer's father, the pirate "Silver-Tongued Jack,"
who knew By-Tor's father, Redbeard. They hired By-Tor to develop
a new kind of knife, one that had side blades that would pop
out at the push of a release button. The RK mechanician gladly
did so, and a good relationship was formed between the 2 organizations.
However, shortly thereafter, the RoachKings sailed beyond the
Point of No Return, and did not return . . .
